We view development as a continual process in which a society seeks to organize and take advantage of its resources for better living conditions.
We take the following factors into consideration:
- The existing resources
- The level of knowledge about the resources
- The possibilities of incorporating in the process
- The degree of control that exists over the resources
- The manner of organizing social forces for taking advantage of their benefits
Ideally the society should allow for the population to have equal opportunity and access to the benefits received by the maximizing of their resources, a development strategy should reach all sectors of the society. Opening opportunities to all sectors of society requires revision of traditional criteria, and better the system for local development.
We propose to reclaim the environment locally and as a participatory process that allows spiritual development. Populations with less resources look to meet their basic needs and reach a higher quality of living. We support progressive economic activities that generate income to obtain better living conditions.
The integral factors of a program that promotes local development and economic activities should be:
- Appropriate priorities for the size of the economic activities and stable alternatives
- Technology and management training to be an efficient alternative development project
- Available resources, planning and priorities for self development
- Financial capacity to manage diverse local environments and resources and its surpluses
Central elements for identification and analysis:
- Correcting the distortions of a restrictive financial system that focuses too little on small efforts
- Facilitation of economic tasks until an efficient technical-economic management level is reached and sustained
- Support economic activities that facilitate the availability of resources and markets
- Support strategies that look to overcome technical-economic limitations
